It was a perfect marriage, for ages. Content publishers and advertisers. That marriage is over. Advertisers left the house, it was a brutal divorce. They found out that on the internet the audience can be reached in other ways. Cheaper, more accountable, better targeted, easier to convert into leads. Google and Facebook are better intermediaries than papers and broadcasters. Or their own platforms, "owned media". Goodbye, outdated publishers!
