His Master's brush
There is a pile of Rembrandt applications in the app stores telling his story, but this Chinese publisher produced a better value-for-money app than his competitiors do. It follows two leads: a timeline with the main happenings in the masters life, and a chronology of his best paintings.
Simple means good. A bright structure with a logically designed navigation leads us through this app. At the same time the team wasn't keen on the opportunities this approach gave them: if you show a world map with the locations of Rembrandt’s works, why not link images of the paintings, so you can see why you should visit?
Also it is a pity the sometimes very intriguing images in the timeline cannot be enlarged, they suggest a lot of information and storie opportunities.
All together a geat app that can be used as a template for different content, but it is not rich enough in additional stories and usabilities.
