John Lewis is jerking your tears this Christmas

Christmas 2015 will see a 100 procent full moon, at night of course. So, with the holiday season coming, Britains upmarket department store John Lewis developed a marketing campaign centered around the moon and it will make you cry... It might be a bit over-the-top scenical, but its definitely a nice piece of storytelling with exemplary employment across media.

The campaign is prefectly developed on several plaftorms like social, Youtube, nationwide tv - not to forget the mandatory dose of charity as well. The message is of course beneficial to the retailers revenue targets: show somebody your love by giving presents, but isn't what Christmans is all about these days? So John Lewis thows in some money to relieve the lonely elderly in the holiday season.

The extension on the dedicated mobile app is done nicely, with a beautiful show-off of augmented reality technology, updated with new mini-stories every day till christmas. And to finalize the campaign, the story goes on in the brick-and-mortar stores. There, one can observe the moon with real telescopes or have oneselves pictured as the man on the moon.

Meanwhile, the spoofs keep coming.
